CENTENARY HOUSE, REGENT ROAD MORECAMBE

Centenary House, Regent Road - Image

Lancaster City Council aims to support local businesses and social enterprises, ensuring that there is sufficient office and industrial property to meet all needs. To help achieve this, the Council is considering creating small business space at Centenary House, Regent Road, Morecambe. This space could cater for local social enterprises or charities, wishing to move into office premises.

To establish demand for such a business centre, the Council has appointed BE Group to carry out a survey of social enterprises in Morecambe. This seeks to identify those social enterprises who are considering a move to commercial premises in the next few years and what type of premises, facilities and services they would require. Even if you have no present plan to relocate, we would like to find out what might prompt you to seek commercial accommodation in the future.

I hope you can find the time to fill out the very short questionnaire which can be found at [CLICK HERE]. Please email the completed questionnaire to chriswilson@begroup.uk.com.  Alternatively you can fax it back on 01925 822113 or post to BE Group, Ingot House, Kelvin Close, Birchwood, Warrington WA3 7PB.

If you would like any further information on the study then please contact Christopher Wilson at BE Group on 01925 822112.  All information will be treated confidentially and the results will be amalgamated in the final report.  I hope you will take the opportunity to have your say.

I am at my house in Jamaica at the moment, and I read your report sipping a rum cocktail watching the sun set from my balcony; I have to say the sunset, marvellous as it was, was not nearly as cheering as your report.  It’s a great bit of work, penetrating and accurate and I very much hope it makes the impression it deserves to.  Thank you.  Lets print and submit.”  Client feedback on BE Group’s report objecting to the proposed deletion in the Denbighshire Local Development Plan consultation draft of an existing employment land allocation at Cilmedw, Llangollen.

The World Gravy Wrestling Championships, the ‘Halo’ Panopticon, the North West’s biggest outdoor ski centre – just three elements of Rossendale’s current tourism offer.  BE Group has been appointed to undertake a tourism study to identify the current and future economic benefits within Rossendale, and the implications for Borough Council policy, specifically the Local Development Framework Core Strategy.

TrainI have read through the report and I think this is a great report that can be read and understood by everybody.  It will be a great reference for the development of Corwen. Thank you for your hard work in the past few months.

Cadwyn Clwyd comments on BE Group’s Action Plan for Corwen addressing the issues and opportunities linked to the proposed extension of the Llangollen Railway, which will see Corwen become the western terminus of the line.

Further Employment Land Review and Sites Assessment studies are beginning for Shropshire and Monmouthshire County Councils.  For Shropshire the study will replace existing studies completed by the five former district authorities, and will inform both the LDF and Local Economic Assessment.  Monmouthshire has re-commissioned BE Group to review employment issues following public consultation on the Local Development Plan Preferred Strategy.

And work continues on a range of projects for the following clients – Advantage West Midlands, Duchy of Lancaster, Homes and Communities Agency, Natural England and the local authorities of Cheshire East, Chesterfield, Hinckley & Bosworth, City of Lincoln, North Kesteven, Oadby & Wigston, Staffordshire Moorlands and West Lindsey.

Life in the Freehold Market?

After virtually no freehold activity  in 2008 and much of 2009, a number of sales towards the end of the year suggest that life might be returning to this sector of the office market.

On behalf of clients, BE Group has sold Arpley House, a 3100 sqft building in Webster Court, Gemini, as well as Seddon's Birchwood One development.  This activity reflects purchasers ability to once again source bank funding and invest a good proportion of their own equity.

Russian Steps Towards Rugby World Cup 2011
