LEEK AND CHEADLE TOWN CENTRE MASTERPLANS
A Draft Final Masterplan for Cheadle Town Centre has now been
produced by consultants BE Group, Taylor Young and Aecom. This follow several months of work that has
researched the different ways that the town centre could be improved. .
The
Draft Final Masterplan has incorporated comments provided by
stakeholders, landowners and the public during consultation on the
Draft Masterplan, which took place throughout December 2009 and
January 2010.
There will be a
further period of formal public consultation once the Draft Final
Masterplan has been finalised and a Final Masterplan has been produced.

be posted here at a later date.

**Cheadle and Leek Public Consultation
Events - December 8th and 9th 2009**
Public consultantions were held on 8th and 9th December to gather feedback on the Draft Masterplans. The information was also dipalyed in the two towns throughout December.

**Leek and Cheadle Public Consultation Events - October 13th and 14th 2009**
Following on from initial public consultation events held in August, further public consultation events were held to gather feedback on the emerging design ideas for the Leek and Cheadle Town Centres.
This second stage of the masterplan looked in more detail at 11 Town Centre sites in Cheadle, and 15 sites in Leek. Each site has the potential to contribute to the enhancement of the town over the next ten years as a place to live, work and visit. Public realm, and transport and access strategies were also produced for each town.

**** Leek and Cheadle Public Launch Events - August 5th and 11th 2009 ****
To introduce the project a launch event was held in Leek on 5th August, and Cheadle on 11th August. Both were attended by approximately 70 people. The event aimed to gather initial ideas and concerns regarding the town centres from the general public.The exhibition boards from August's events are displayed below (click on the images to enlarge them).
